A clinical pharmacist role is available at a 200+ bed community hospital located in the Deville, LA area, near Alexandria. This contract opportunity offers a chance to contribute your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic hospital environment with a diverse patient population.
Location: Deville, LA (near Alexandria)
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating schedule with varying hours: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
- Every other weekend coverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders efficiently and accurately
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and compliance
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff on medication management
- Monitor pharmacokinetics and adjust dosing when appropriate
- Utilize hospital technology systems, including EPIC and Pyxis, to enhance patient safety and documentation
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials
- Experience in clinical pharmacy within hospital settings
- Proficient with electronic medical records (EPIC) and automated dispensing systems (Pyxis)
- Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
- BLS certification via the American Heart Association (AHA)
