This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in home infusion therapy and sterile compounding. The position involves per diem coverage providing critical support in a home infusion environment during specific coverage periods throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify pharmaceutical products and drugs entering the clean room for sterile compounding by confirming unique lot numbers on batch records.
  • Perform final verification of compounded sterile preparations (CSP), including labels, drug amounts, and medication accuracy before release.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to patients, ensuring all medications and medical supplies match delivery tickets.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, field nurses, and patients to discuss medication regimens, manage inventory, address drug reactions, and monitor abnormal lab results.
  • Initiate calls to patients to coordinate upcoming medication deliveries, verify inventory, and ensure compliance with drug therapies.
  • Manage incoming calls from medical offices, nursing agencies, and patients regarding medication inquiries and coordination.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Master of Science in Pharmacy preferred.
  • Current registered pharmacist license in North Carolina.
  • At least two years of recent experience in acute-care pharmacy or a minimum of one year in home infusion therapy.
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy.
  • Familiarity with CPR+ software is mandatory.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during coverage periods: • April 14–22 • June 13–25 • July 29–August 5
