Clinical Pharmacist in El Cajon, CA

A full-time clinical pharmacist position is available, focusing on a unique mail order pharmacy environment specializing in diabetic medical supplies, including continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps. This role requires expertise in retail pharmacy filling and offers an opportunity to work with a tightly knit team dedicated to accurate and careful product fulfillment.

Location:

• Chula Vista, CA (Otay Lake Road area)

Schedule:

• Pharmacy Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (may require staying until 8 PM if work is not completed)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and fulfill orders of boxed diabetic medical supplies
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure accuracy
• Work within a specialized program system (Brightree) with provided training
• Maintain effective communication and teamwork with the pharmacy team

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California State Pharmacist License in good standing (no negative history)
• Previous experience in mail order or retail pharmacy environments, with an emphasis on filling
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work
• Ability to manage a non-traditional mail order process involving specialized diabetic supplies

Team and Environment:

• Pharmacy team includes 3 pharmacists, 5 technicians, a clerk, and a driver
• Supportive environment with available technical assistance; pharmacists will not work alone
• Average daily volume of approximately 20 orders, requiring detailed attention

Additional Information:

• Contract position, approximately 13+ weeks full-time
• Opportunity for candidates with multiple pharmacy licenses to be considered for permanent site manager roles
