An opportunity is available for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in the Fall River, MA area. This contract position offers a 6-8 week assignment with potential for conversion based on performance and fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure medication supply and distribution comply with legal requirements.
  • Evaluate prescribed medications for patient suitability.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient pharmacy records.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and storage.
  • Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
  • Educate patients on the use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions conforming to safety standards.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies effectively.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and healthcare practitioners.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Massachusetts pharmacist license in-hand.
  • Willingness to train retail pharmacists; prior pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional coverage from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
