A Fall River, MA healthcare facility is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a 6-8 week contract with potential for permanent placement based on performance. This opportunity requires flexibility with primarily an 8:00 am to 4:30 pm shift, with occasional coverage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, dispense, and monitor prescription medications, ensuring legal compliance and appropriateness for each patient
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with attention to detail
  • Counsel patients on medication use, potential reactions, side effects, and drug interactions
  • Provide specialized services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Prepare compounded medications and sterile solutions following established protocols
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and clerical staff to ensure efficient daily operations
  • Ensure proper inventory management of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners in identifying and resolving medication-related issues

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required
  • Retail pharmacists will be considered; training provided if needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Strong communication skills for patient education and staff supervision
