An opportunity is available for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in the Fall River, MA area. This contract position offers a 6-8 week assignment with potential for conversion based on performance and fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
- Ensure medication supply and distribution comply with legal requirements.
- Evaluate prescribed medications for patient suitability.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient pharmacy records.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and storage.
- Provide additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
- Educate patients on the use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions conforming to safety standards.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies effectively.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and healthcare practitioners.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Massachusetts pharmacist license in-hand.
- Willingness to train retail pharmacists; prior pharmacy experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional coverage from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
