Provide expert clinical pharmacy services in a dynamic acute care hospital setting. This contract position is based in Forrest City, AR, offering an excellent opportunity to support a medical center with med-surg, ICU, and women’s health specialties. The role requires a licensed pharmacist with hospital experience, ready to step in as interim coverage for approximately two months while a permanent hire is finalized.

Location: Forrest City, Arkansas
Job Type: Contract (approximately 2+ months)
Schedule:

  • 3 days per week (flexible days, coordinated with Director of Pharmacy)
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • No weekend or on-call duties required

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacist license (required)
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with acute care pharmacy operations
  • Competency in Medhost order entry system preferred; onsite training provided
  • Experience with Pyxis ES automation a plus, but training available

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and perform IV compounding with accuracy
  • Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate closely with technicians who handle replenishment of Pyxis, expiration monitoring, crash cart checks, medication area inspections, and unit dose dispensing
  • Participate in a 2-3 day onsite orientation to ensure smooth integration
