This permanent clinical pharmacist position offers a rare opportunity to develop advanced skills across multiple critical care areas, including the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and participation on the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where pharmacists may be limited to one unit, this role allows a diverse clinical experience, enhancing your expertise in high-acuity settings.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and verify medication orders, reviewing medication profiles for clinical appropriateness
- Provide tailored clinical pharmacy services specific to patient populations in ED and ICU
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and patient care teams
- Monitor drug therapy and manage pharmacist consults under established protocols
- Engage in acute care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma interventions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- Completion of PGY1 residency or minimum three years of current clinical pharmacy experience
- Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Candidates without an active PA license are encouraged to apply
Location: This position is based in a vibrant community near Penn State in the beautiful State College region. Relocation assistance is available, making it an ideal opportunity for pharmacists from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Kentucky, Maryland, and neighboring states.
Schedule:
- Primarily day shifts with some variable afternoon coverage
- 8-hour shifts with occasional flexibility
Technology: Experience with Meditech preferred
