Clinical Pharmacist - Fredericksburg, Virginia

A clinical pharmacist position is available to support outpatient infusion services at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This opportunity offers a contract-to-hire arrangement with a focus on oncology pharmacy practice. The role involves working alongside a small, dedicated team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Location:

• Fredericksburg, VA

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy operational hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• No on-call or weekend coverage required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense chemotherapy and other infusion medications
• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care
• Monitor patient responses and manage medication therapies
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia pharmacist license
• Experience in hospital pharmacy, outpatient infusion, or chemotherapy preferred
• Strong knowledge of oncology medication protocols and safety
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems
