An opportunity is available for a clinical pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. This contract role offers a 13-week assignment beginning late April or early May, primarily covering evening shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM on an every other week basis.
Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and dispense medication orders efficiently and accurately
- Prepare sterile and hazardous medications following USP standards
- Manage controlled substances according to regulatory requirements
- Conduct medication histories, perform reconciliation, and provide patient education
- Perform clinical interventions to optimize drug therapy outcomes
- Monitor therapies and provide drug information and support to healthcare providers and patients
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience required
- Experience with Pyxis and carousel medication dispensing technology preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Active New Jersey pharmacist license must be held at time of application
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster dose
- First-time travel pharmacists encouraged to apply
