A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract to support sterile compounding services in Garland, TX. This role offers a specialized focus on home infusion therapy, requiring strong expertise in sterile medication preparation and patient-centered clinical care.
Schedule:
- One week: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Alternate week: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and determine patient eligibility for home infusion therapy.
- Develop and adjust individualized medication therapy plans using clinical assessments, lab values, and pharmacokinetic principles.
- Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications in compliance with USP standards, state and federal regulations, and pharmacy policies.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on infusion therapy and proper medication use.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and monitor patient outcomes.
- Manage infusion pumps and medication administration equipment ensuring quality assurance and safety.
- Provide drug information, maintain accurate documentation, and support regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license.
- Sterile IV compounding experience preferred (at least 1 year) OR experience with non-sterile compounding, immunizations, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Pharmacy Residency, APPE, or equivalent pharmacy experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
- Proficient in interpreting laboratory values and pharmacokinetic applications.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
