A Clinical Pharmacist position is available to support long-term care needs in Gibsonia, PA. This contract role offers a focused assignment of one month with the potential for extension. The position involves direct oversight of medication dispensing and clinical consultation for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care clients.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; Sunday 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing orders entered by data entry technicians to ensure accuracy for various care facilities
- Checking blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Responding to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance
- Counting controlled substances and maintaining documentation in perpetual inventory records
- Inspecting emergency medication boxes for completeness and compliance
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Licensed and registered pharmacist in good standing in Pennsylvania
- Minimum one year of pharmacy experience, preferably in Long-Term Care settings
- Physical capabilities including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
