Clinical Pharmacist - Glenwood Springs, CO

An opportunity exists for a Clinical Pharmacist to support patient care through expert medication management and clinical consultation. This role is based in Glenwood Springs, CO, and requires a pharmacist with strong expertise in hospital pharmacy operations and experience with Epic electronic medical records.

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO
Type: Contract assignment, expected through mid-August 2026 (with start date flexibility)
Schedule:

• Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
• Shift starts at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday
• Rotating weekends with shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders, including complex admixtures and IV preparations
• Maintain medication stock and ensure safe, cost-effective medication therapies aligned with policies and protocols
• Monitor drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and proper dosing, including pharmacokinetics
• Review culture and sensitivity data for antibiotic appropriateness and suggest therapeutic alternatives
• Provide clinical drug information to practitioners, patients, and families
• Document clinical activities comprehensively and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Serve as a member of the Code Response Team and deliver training and education to clinical staff

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Mandatory flu vaccine (no exemptions) for the October to April period
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records is required
• Meditech system experience is a plus, as the facility is transitioning from Meditech to Epic
