An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist skilled in medication management and pharmacy operations, with expertise in EPIC systems. This contract position is based in Glenwood Springs, CO, and requires a pharmacist ready to start as soon as possible. The assignment is expected to continue through mid-August of 2026, with flexibility to accommodate your start date.
Schedule:
- Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
- Regular start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
- Rotating weekends with shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and accurately dispense medication orders as per physician instructions
- Maintain medication stock in patient care units and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Monitor drug therapy for interactions, appropriateness, and contraindications; provide clinical consultation
- Compound pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Document clinical activities, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to staff training
- Serve as a member of the Code Response Team, ready to address emergencies
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
- Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
- Proficiency with EPIC systems is required; experience with Meditech is a plus due to ongoing EMR conversion
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Mandatory flu vaccination during flu season (October 1 through April 1)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics, controlled substance regulations, and therapeutic drug monitoring
