A prestigious non-profit health system in Santa Barbara County seeks a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist focused on oncology to provide expert pharmaceutical care across inpatient and outpatient settings. This direct hire opportunity is perfect for a seasoned pharmacist with strong clinical experience and advanced oncology specialization to impact patient outcomes in one of the most beautiful and desirable locations in the U.S.

Location: Goleta, CA

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medication management including lab test ordering, therapy selection, and adverse event management.
  • Verify chemotherapy orders for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education on oncology treatment plans, managing side effects, and enhancing adherence.
  • Collaborate with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to optimize treatment decisions.
  • Participate in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug use, and develop oncology protocols and guidelines within the institution.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required.
  • Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license.
  • Completion of PGY2 or oncology fellowship, or PGY1 plus 3 years, or 5 years total experience as a clinical specialist in oncology.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise beyond staffing experience.
