A leading non-profit health system in Santa Barbara County seeks an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join their oncology team. This direct hire role offers a unique opportunity to work in a stunning coastal community known for its exceptional weather and lifestyle.
As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Oncology, you will serve as a key clinical resource for both inpatient and outpatient infusion settings. Your expertise will guide chemotherapy management, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning alongside providers and nursing staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive medication management, including ordering lab tests, selecting therapies, and monitoring adverse events
- Verifying chemotherapy orders for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and safety
- Educating patients and caregivers on treatment plans and managing chemotherapy side effects to enhance adherence
- Collaborating with clinical teams during rounds to optimize oncology care decisions
- Participating in clinical trials, managing investigational drugs, and developing institutional oncology protocols and guidelines
Qualifications:
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required
- Eligibility to obtain California pharmacist license
- Oncology specialization: PGY2 or fellowship in oncology OR PGY1 plus 3 years clinical oncology specialist experience OR 5 years as a clinical oncology specialist
- Board certification in oncology (BCOP) is preferred
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts
This position offers a competitive hourly salary range of $84.00 to $126.01, along with relocation and rental assistance to help you settle comfortably. An excellent benefits package is included.
