A clinical pharmacist position is available in an infusion pharmacy setting specializing in oncology care. This contract opportunity supports a multidisciplinary oncology team and plays a critical role in patient-centered cancer treatment, based in the Santa Barbara area with Monday through Friday day shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with oncology providers to contribute to treatment planning and ensure adherence to safety protocols in cancer therapy.
- Provide cancer therapy education, toxicity monitoring, and manage supportive care for patients and caregivers.
- Serve as a resource for evidence-based pharmacological treatment options and facilitate access to clinical services.
- Assess and select appropriate therapies, monitor and manage adverse drug reactions, and educate patients and healthcare providers.
- Prospectively review patient charts to identify and prevent medication-related issues.
- Evaluate treatment appropriateness and effectiveness grounded in clinical guidelines and primary literature.
- Discuss therapy options for various disease stages including initial treatment and relapse or refractory cases.
- Customize treatment plans and optimize drug therapy tailored to individual patient needs.
- Ensure medication safety throughout the treatment process.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license.
- Current experience in oncology pharmacy, with knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and supportive care.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts.
- Infusion pharmacy environment focused on oncology care.
