Clinical Pharmacist - Goleta, CA

Engage in a rewarding role as a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in oncology within a dynamic infusion pharmacy environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday during day shifts, supporting a multidisciplinary oncology team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Location: Goleta, CA (Travel opportunity in Santa Barbara area)

Responsibilities include playing a vital role in cancer therapy education, toxicity monitoring, and managing supportive care for oncology patients. You will collaborate closely with oncology providers, contributing to treatment decisions and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. As a knowledgeable resource, you will offer evidence-based pharmacological treatment options and facilitate access to clinical services.

Key Duties:

• Prospectively review patient charts to identify and prevent medication-related issues.
• Assess and select appropriate therapies by evaluating treatment effectiveness and safety based on guidelines and current literature.
• Provide education and counseling to providers, patients, and caregivers regarding cancer treatments and supportive care.
• Collaborate with oncology teams in making informed treatment decisions, focusing on initial therapy or relapse/refractory disease.
• Manage adverse reactions and optimize drug therapy tailored to individual patient needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active California Pharmacist license.
• Experience in oncology pharmacy with familiarity in cancer therapy protocols.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to apply evidence-based practices.
• Excellent communication skills to support interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
