This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist looking to apply or expand their expertise in pharmaceutical compounding within a dynamic healthcare setting. The role focuses on preparing and dispensing both sterile and non-sterile compounded medications, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense compounded prescriptions in accordance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to tailor pharmaceutical care to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and effectively manage medication inventory.
- Provide pharmaceutical guidance and counseling to patients for optimal health outcomes.
- Assist in the onboarding, training, and supervision of pharmacy technician staff.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacist license in North Carolina.
- 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience preferred; enthusiastic new graduates with a passion for compounding are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of USP compounding standards (795, 797, 800) is essential.
- Familiarity with retail pharmacy operations and prescription processing.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn pharmacy software PK (training provided).
Schedule and Hours:
- 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Every third Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Includes a 30-minute lunch break.
This 13-week temp-to-perm opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in compounding pharmacy with potential for permanent placement. The average prescription volume is approximately 78 compounded prescriptions daily, making this role both engaging and impactful.
