A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist with a strong background in equine or veterinary/animal compounding to fill a contract-to-hire position. This role involves a leadership focus on delivering exceptional care tailored to animal patients while managing daily pharmacy operations in a growing, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians to maintain an efficient workflow
- Verify prescriptions and oversee daily pharmacy processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review and manage approximately 25–30 regularly reordered formularies
- Ensure adherence to pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists and staff to maintain smooth operations and exceptional animal patient care
- Assist with inventory control and operational oversight as required
Pharmacy Profile:
- Specialized in veterinary/equine compounding with mostly non-sterile prescriptions and some sterile compounding
- Processes over 200 prescriptions daily
- Utilizes PK Software for order entry and QuickBooks Online for invoicing, with a transition to Pharmetica upcoming
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing (state requirements apply)
- Demonstrated experience in veterinary or equine compounding; human compounding alone is not sufficient
- Proven leadership and supervisory abilities
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence and following procedures
