Clinical Pharmacist in Holbrook, AZ

An inpatient hospital is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to provide ongoing coverage for 2–4 days per week, supporting critical pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity is based in Winslow, AZ, with training provided late July and scheduled shifts during August through October.

Schedule:

• 2–4 days per week based on coverage needs
• Pharmacy hours: 6:30 AM–4:30 PM daily

Position Type:
Ongoing contract / PRN coverage

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy, dosing, allergies, and interactions
• Review and monitor antibiotic therapies, including vancomycin dosing and lab monitoring
• Process medication orders using Cerner and manage medication distribution via Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Provide clinical recommendations and answer medication-related inquiries from physicians, nurses, and clinical staff
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor patient medication therapy and ensure safety
• Support medication reconciliation, formulary compliance, and inventory management including controlled substances
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Arizona Pharmacist license in good standing
• Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience is essential
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records and Pyxis dispensing systems highly preferred
• Knowledge of inpatient medication dosing and clinical pharmacy best practices
• Familiarity with vancomycin dosing and monitoring is a plus
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and independent problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Availability to attend required training during the last two weeks of July
