Clinical Pharmacist in Hot Springs Village, AR

A healthcare facility with a 359-bed capacity and Level 1 trauma designation is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their inpatient team. This role offers an opportunity to work within a progressive, state-of-the-art hospital known for a fast-paced, team-oriented culture dedicated to pediatric care.

Schedule/Hours:

• 8-hour day shifts
• 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location:

• Hot Springs Village, AR

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense medications following physician’s orders.
• Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication usage.
• Respond to patient inquiries about medication and dosages.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy data in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
• Verify medication doses based on patient diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area.
• Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, or adverse effects.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate drug therapies, including cost-effective alternatives.
• Manage non-formulary drug needs and ensure quality standards in medication preparation.
• Process medication orders efficiently and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor patients for therapeutic outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers.
• Participate in educating patients, pharmacy staff, and students.
• Handle drug information requests and assist in drug utilization review.
• Order and manage medication supplies, including coordination of substitutions and inventory control.

Qualifications/Preferred Experience:

• Active Arkansas pharmacy license
• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• IV experience or IV certification preferred
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
• New graduates are welcome to apply
