This direct hire opportunity invites licensed pharmacists to contribute clinical expertise in a well-established, 359-bed trauma 1 teaching hospital. The facility is a leading pediatric medical provider, recognized as one of the largest in the U.S. and the state’s only pediatric medical center. The environment promotes a fast-paced, collaborative, and traveler-friendly workplace within a state-of-the-art setting.

Location: Hot Springs Village, AR
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Start: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense medications according to physician orders
  • Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
  • Counsel patients on medication and dosage instructions
  • Maintain pharmacy data in compliance with regulatory and hospital procedures
  • Verify dosing accuracy based on diagnosis, weight, age, and surface area
  • Monitor and intervene in drug therapy problems such as allergies and adverse reactions
  • Evaluate and recommend drug therapies, including non-formulary drugs and cost-effective alternatives
  • Ensure medication quality, preparation, and labeling standards
  • Prioritize and process orders efficiently and accurately
  • Engage in patient care monitoring and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes
  • Participate in educational initiatives for patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students
  • Manage drug information requests and support drug utilization reviews
  • Handle medication and supply orders, backorders, substitutions, and inventory coordination

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Arkansas pharmacist license required
  • At least 2 years of inpatient experience preferred
  • IV experience or IV certification preferred
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
