Clinical Pharmacist in Houston, TX

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for an overnight position at a women’s health facility in Houston, TX. This 14-week contract begins on 5/18 and requires working a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system, the role focuses on optimizing pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes and addressing drug-related issues across a patient population ranging from newborns to adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage medication dosing by evaluating patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to prevent medication errors.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the electronic system, maintaining zero medication incidents.
• Verify and ensure correct medication dispensing, documented through a lack of dispensing errors.
• Process orders and deliver doses within established timelines to meet safety and quality standards.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in sterile product preparation, ensuring compliance among pharmacy staff.
• Complete annual re-certification and maintain a score of at least 90% on aseptic technique and infection control exams.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with pediatric exposure.
• Current Texas pharmacist license.
• ACPE IV Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of sterile product preparation and infection control standards.
