An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist specialized in inpatient care to support the Pavilion for Women site in Houston, TX. This 14-week contract position offers overnight shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, starting May 18. The role requires working with EPIC EMR and delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients ranging from neonates to adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care, ensuring dosing appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions.
  • Accurately enter and verify medication orders using the electronic medical record system.
  • Monitor and verify medications dispensed to prevent errors and ensure timely delivery of doses within established guidelines.
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control during sterile product preparation; enforce these protocols among pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain compliance by completing annual re-certification in aseptic technique and infection control with a minimum passing score of 90%.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience, with pediatric experience strongly preferred.
  • Active Texas pharmacist license.
  • ACPE IV Certification required.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
  • Strong attention to detail to minimize medication incidents and dispensing errors.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in aseptic technique and infection control.
