Clinical Pharmacist in Houston, TX

A Clinical Pharmacist is needed for overnight shifts at a women’s healthcare pavilion in Houston, TX. This contract opportunity begins May 18 and runs for approximately 14 weeks, with a 7 on/7 off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves direct medication management across a patient age range from newborn to adult, utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the medication process by verifying appropriateness of doses based on patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
• Accurately enter and process medication orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Prevent and resolve drug-related issues to promote optimal pharmaceutical care.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control protocols during sterile product preparation and ensure team compliance.
• Maintain documentation of medication accuracy and contribute to peer reviews to minimize medication incidents.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with pediatrics.
• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• Current ACPE IV Certification.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
