Clinical Pharmacist - Houston, TX

An experienced Clinical Pharmacist is needed for overnight shifts at a Pavilion for Women site in Houston, TX. This 14-week contract position begins on 5/18, with a schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off, working from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role requires proficiency in EPIC EMR and a strong commitment to promoting pharmaceutical care across all age groups from neonates to adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the medication process, ensuring doses are appropriate for diagnosis, weight/BSA, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system to prevent medication incidents.
• Verify that medications dispensed are accurate with a focus on minimizing dispensing errors.
• Process medication orders and deliver doses promptly within established guidelines.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control standards in preparing sterile products; ensure compliance among technicians and pharmacists.
• Complete annual recertification and achieve a minimum of 90% on aseptic technique and infection control exams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years inpatient experience, preferably in pediatrics.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Texas.
• ACPE IV Certification is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work overnight shifts effectively.
