Clinical Pharmacist in Houston, TX

A large, high-volume hospital in the Texas Medical Center seeks a skilled Oncology Inpatient Pharmacist to join their clinical pharmacy team. This role offers the opportunity to support complex oncology patients in a dynamic 500+ bed facility known for advanced patient care. The position is contract-based with the possibility to transition to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the patient care team during rounds to provide expert medication recommendations and ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
• Develop and maintain oncology treatment protocols within Epic and Epic Beacon systems.
• Facilitate smooth transition of care by coordinating with outpatient oncology pharmacists.
• Manage non-formulary medication requests and coordinate specialty drug therapies for oncology patients.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Texas pharmacist license and Texas IV certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with oncology specialization.
• Proficient in Epic electronic health record system for medication management; Epic Beacon experience is a strong plus.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative hospital environment.

Schedule:

• Day shift hours to support pharmacy operations and multidisciplinary patient rounds.
