Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (Contract)
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist with sterile compounding experience to support a growing infusion pharmacy team. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is passionate about patient care, medication safety, and delivering high-quality infusion therapy services in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Duration: 13-Weeks
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | 11:00 AM–8:00 PM or 11:30 AM–8:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients for infusion therapy services and determine suitability for treatment in a home-based setting.
- Design, review, and optimize patient-specific medication regimens using clinical data, laboratory results, and pharmacokinetic principles.
- Oversee the preparation, verification, and dispensing of sterile compounded medications while ensuring compliance with USP guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and infusion administration.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to support positive patient outcomes and continuity of care.
- Monitor infusion equipment and medication delivery systems to ensure safe and effective therapy.
- Maintain thorough documentation, provide drug information support, and contribute to quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license.
One or more of the following:
- Minimum one year of sterile IV compounding experience.
- Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunization services, or Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency.
- Completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations.
- Comparable pharmacy practice experience.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy operations.
- Ability to interpret laboratory data and apply clinical pharmacokinetic concepts.
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and commitment to medication safety.
