A healthcare facility in Forrest City, AR is seeking an Interim Pharmacist to provide essential clinical pharmacy services on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with a hospital background who is licensed to practice in Arkansas. The assignment offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care in an acute care setting, supporting medication management across med-surg, ICU, and women’s health specialties.

Location: Forrest City, AR
Type: Contract (3+ months)
Schedule:

  • 3 days per week, flexible scheduling with Director of Pharmacy
  • Coverage hours Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • No weekend or on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety
  • Perform IV compounding under sterile conditions
  • Provide oversight and direction to pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate with tech staff who support Pyxis operations, crash cart checks, medication inspections, and unit dose management
  • Participate in 2-3 days of onsite training including Medhost order entry system

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current pharmacist license in Arkansas (AR required)
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred
  • Familiarity with acute care environments, including med-surg, ICU, and women’s health units
  • Ability to work independently and supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
  • Willingness to learn site automation systems such as Pyxis ES
