Clinical Pharmacist in Hughes, AR

Seeking an experienced Pharmacist to provide interim coverage at an acute care hospital specializing in med-surg, ICU, and women’s health. This contract position requires a licensed pharmacist in Arkansas to work approximately three days per week, with flexible scheduling arranged in coordination with the Director of Pharmacy. Coverage is needed immediately and expected to last for over two months until a permanent hire is placed.

Location: Forrest City, Arkansas

Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• No weekend or on-call duties required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification and intravenous (IV) compounding
• Supervise and oversee pharmacy technicians and their tasks
• Maintain compliance through crash cart checks, medication area inspections, and unit dose management
• Utilize Medhost order entry system with onsite training provided
• Work with Pyxis ES automation system (experience not required)

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Arkansas (required)
• Hospital or acute care pharmacy experience preferred
• Familiarity with Medhost or similar order entry systems beneficial
• Ability to oversee pharmacy technicians effectively
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and medication handling

Additional Information:

• Orientation/training expected for 2–3 days before starting
• Work closely with a small team consisting of one full-time pharmacist and one technician
