A clinical pharmacist with expertise in sterile compounding is needed for a 13-week contract opportunity located in Irving, TX. The position offers a structured schedule alternating between two shifts: one day from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and the following day from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing work-life balance for dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients for home infusion therapy and assess eligibility for home-based care.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized medication therapy plans using clinical assessments, laboratory values, and pharmacokinetic principles.
  • Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications adhering to USP standards as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication regimens, infusion techniques, and safe medication use.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage infusion pumps and related equipment while upholding quality assurance and safety protocols.
  • Provide accurate drug information, maintain thorough documentation, and support regulatory compliance and medication safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
  • At least one of the following: • Minimum 1 year sterile IV compounding experience, or • Experience with non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), or • Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency, or • Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE), or • Equivalent pharmacy experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong clinical knowledge specific to home infusion pharmacy.
  • Proficient in interpreting laboratory values and applying pharmacokinetic principles.
  • Excellent communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills.
