Support pediatric patient care as a Clinical Pharmacist on the night shift in a leading 359-bed teaching hospital. This role offers a dynamic, team-based environment where you will directly impact medication therapy for hospitalized children. The facility is a trauma level 1 center and one of the largest pediatric medical providers in the country, uniquely serving Arkansas as its sole pediatric medical center.

Schedule & Location:

  • Night shifts, 7 days on/7 days off
  • 12-hour shifts: Thursday through Wednesday, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (flexible scheduling available)
  • Located in Jacksonville, Arkansas
  • Contract position for 13 weeks, with potential for temp to hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense medications according to physician orders
  • Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
  • Monitor and verify dosing accuracy based on pediatric parameters such as weight and age
  • Identify and resolve drug therapy issues, including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions
  • Recommend cost-effective and clinically appropriate alternative therapies
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records in compliance with regulations and hospital policies
  • Educate patients, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and students as part of patient care and discharge planning
  • Participate in drug information management and utilization review activities
  • Manage medication ordering, inventory, and substitution processes to ensure availability

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current Arkansas pharmacist license preferred; candidates in the licensing process considered (temporary license available)
  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • IV therapy experience or IV certification preferred
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
