Clinical Pharmacist in Jefferson, NC

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to support inpatient care at a healthcare facility in Jefferson, NC. This 13-week contract position requires a detail-oriented pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills. The role focuses on ensuring patient safety through thorough medication verification and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Schedule/Hours:

• Days/Evenings shifts with no work past 9pm

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare teammates via phone and in person
• Verify medication orders, checking for allergies, drug interactions, and appropriate therapy
• Perform medication reconciliation by reviewing home medications against reports
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, and healthcare team members for dose consultations and clinical questions
• Check IV admixtures for accuracy and compliance with USP 797/800 guidelines to ensure patient safety

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical records system (required)
• Valid North Carolina pharmacist license
• Must reside more than 40 miles from Jefferson, NC (no local candidates)
