Travel Inpatient Pharmacist | Acute Care Hospital | 13 Week Contract in Missouri

A hospital in Springfield, MO is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist to join the central pharmacy team for a 13-week contract engagement. The pharmacist will be working a consistent 7-on/7-off first-shift schedule. This role is focused on medication product verification, central pharmacy workflow, and supporting pharmacy technicians throughout the shift. 

Travelers will be considered at this time, provided they live 50 miles or more from the facility.

Assignment Highlights

Schedule: 10-hour shifts | 7 days on / 7 days off
EMR: EPIC

Responsibilities
-Coordinate daily workflow within the central pharmacy
-Use EPIC Dispense Prep to verify and check medications
-Verify IVs, premade IVs, creams, insulin pens, and other medication products
-Check medication kits, crash carts, pre-packaged items, and other pharmacy supplies
-Ensure code carts have been properly restocked
-Monitor technician workflow and redirect technicians to priority tasks when needed
-Help maintain an efficient and organized central pharmacy operation
-Ensure medication products are accurately prepared and available for patient care

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements
-Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program with the education necessary to obtain and maintain pharmacist licensure
-Current, active Missouri Pharmacist Licensure required
-Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience preferred
-New graduates may be considered
-Ability to work the assigned 7-on/7-off schedule
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
-Ability to communicate effectively with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
