This opportunity is critical for a skilled clinical pharmacist specializing in compounded preparations within a specialty compounding pharmacy setting. Under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor, you will play a key role in both sterile and non-sterile production departments, ensuring adherence to stringent state and federal regulations while supporting prescription dispensing and patient care.
Responsibilities include monitoring the preparation of compounded sterile and non-sterile medications meticulously for accuracy and compliance with master formula worksheets. You will implement and follow standard operating procedures and policies, strictly adhere to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines, and maintain rigorous cleaning and garbing protocols. Accurate calculations, thorough documentation, and operation of production and computerized equipment are essential to your role. Quality control testing and inspections are performed regularly to verify medication accuracy, quality, purity, and potency. Staying current with the latest compounding techniques and advancements will be key to your continued professional development.
This position requires a strong commitment to attendance due to the critical nature of the workflow and team reliance on consistent performance. Shift schedules include Monday through Friday options: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with a possible 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM shift assignment after training.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Recent pharmacy experience with a background in sterile compounding
- Knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards
- Detail-oriented with strong aseptic technique skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
