Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Kings Beach, California

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in the South Lake Tahoe area, supporting a 100-bed hospital setting with comprehensive oncology services. This role focuses on delivering expert pharmaceutical care with an emphasis on chemotherapy and oncology, requiring a licensed California pharmacist with approximately one year of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct order verification to ensure accuracy and safety of medication orders
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and oversight
• Collaborate closely with nurses and physicians to optimize patient medication regimens
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to personalize patient therapy, especially in oncology cases
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for managing patient and medication data
• Work a consistent schedule of four 10-hour day shifts per week

Qualifications:

• Valid California pharmacist license
• Approximately one year of clinical pharmacy experience, preferably with oncology/chemotherapy exposure
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Full-time availability, able to commit to scheduled shifts
