A Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available for a dedicated professional licensed in Pennsylvania. This contract role offers an opportunity to apply your clinical pharmacy skills in a supportive environment that serves skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. The assignment is scheduled for one month with a possibility of extension.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care settings.
  • Inspect blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
  • Count controlled substances and maintain accurate documentation in the perpetual inventory.
  • Monitor and check emergency medication boxes regularly.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year experience in pharmacy practice, Long Term Care experience preferred.
  • Proficient use of operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong visual acuity and fine motor skills are required for medication verification.
