A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced IV/Infusion Clinical Pharmacist in the greater Atlanta area with a flexible weekday schedule. The assignment begins in late April or early May and offers shifts Monday through Friday from either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and lawfully.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage.
  • Maintain proper management of confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related patient issues and communicate with physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Oversee monitoring and cleaning of sterile compounding areas.
  • Ensure staff competency in sterile compounding activities including cleaning, garbing, testing, training, and compounding procedures.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to maintain compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current Georgia pharmacist license required.
  • Prior IV/Infusion pharmacy experience highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and pharmacy regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

This contract role offers the chance to contribute clinical expertise in a specialized infusion pharmacy setting. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate quickly due to client’s slow update process with multiple vendors.
