A permanent Clinical Pharmacist role is available in a vibrant healthcare setting offering diverse clinical experiences across multiple units, including Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), along with a dynamic antibiotic stewardship team. This position provides a unique opportunity to develop comprehensive clinical skills by working in varied specialties, unlike larger hospitals that may limit pharmacists to a single floor.

Location: State College, PA – a scenic area known for its connection to Penn State University. Relocation assistance is available to eligible candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Entering and verifying medication orders and reviewing medication profiles for appropriateness.
  • Providing clinical services tailored to specific patient populations and delivering drug information support.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams and rounds according to practice area requirements.
  • Monitoring drug therapies and conducting pharmacist-managed consults in line with protocols.
  • Engaging in acute patient care scenarios in the ED and CCU, including cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma cases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • PGY1 residency or a minimum of three years of current clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Possession of a Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Candidates without a PA license are encouraged to apply.

Schedule:

  • Variable day and afternoon shifts, primarily 8-hour day shifts.

Experience with Meditech IT systems is preferred.

This opportunity is open to candidates from Pennsylvania as well as neighboring states including Ohio, New York, Kentucky, Maryland, and the surrounding region. Relocation support is offered on a case-by-case basis.
