A permanent opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to work in a dynamic hospital setting providing care across multiple critical units. This role offers a diverse clinical experience spanning the Emergency Department (ED), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and participation on the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where clinical pharmacists may be assigned to a single floor, this position allows for broader exposure, supporting the development of comprehensive clinical skills.

Location: State College, PA – a vibrant college town known for its scenic beauty and home to Penn State University. Relocation assistance is available to qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and review medication profiles for clinical appropriateness.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to the needs of patients in the ED, ICU, and other specified units.
  • Participate actively on multidisciplinary teams and during patient rounds.
  • Conduct drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults according to established protocols.
  • Respond to acute scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma in collaboration with healthcare teams.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
  • PGY1 residency completion or a minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience.
  • Valid Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Candidates without a current PA license are encouraged to apply.

Additional Details:

  • Schedule consists mainly of day shifts with some variable days and afternoons; shifts are typically 8 hours.
  • Experience with Meditech system is preferred.
  • Competitive salary range from $108,000 to $169,000 annually, with midpoint around $139,000.
  • Relocation support is available on a case-by-case basis.
