A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in State College, PA, offering a dynamic role supporting both Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU) settings, as well as participating in an antibiotic stewardship team. This unique role provides exposure across multiple clinical areas, allowing for expanded expertise beyond a single unit focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process medication orders including entry, verification, and reviewing profiles for clinical appropriateness
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services tailored to patient populations within ED and ICU
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and team discussions
  • Monitor drug therapies and execute pharmacist-managed consults following established protocols
  • Engage in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma events
  • Provide reliable drug information to the healthcare team as needed

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
  • Completion of PGY1 residency or minimum of 3 years progressive clinical pharmacy experience
  • Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain one; out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records preferred

Location and Schedule:

  • Based in State College, Pennsylvania—a vibrant community home to Penn State University with attractive living amenities
  • Variable schedule primarily encompassing day shifts, 8-hour rotations in a permanent position
