A reputable pediatric medical center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join a dynamic, fast-paced pharmacy team. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to practice within a state-of-the-art, trauma level 1 teaching hospital with 359 beds, recognized as one of the nation’s largest pediatric medical providers and the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas.

Location: Little Rock, AR
Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed drugs in accordance with physicians’ instructions.
  • Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient history, and medication use.
  • Verify dosage appropriateness considering patient diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area.
  • Identify and intervene in drug therapy-related issues including allergies and adverse reactions.
  • Evaluate and recommend suitable therapeutic alternatives, including cost-effective options.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy data recording, regulatory requirements, and hospital procedures.
  • Provide patient and staff education, including pharmacists, technicians, and students.
  • Participate in discharge planning and drug utilization review activities.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering, substitution, recalls, and departmental inventory coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arkansas pharmacy license
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient clinical pharmacy experience
  • Intravenous (IV) experience or IV certification required
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
