Strong clinical pharmacy expertise is sought for a direct hire daytime position at a leading pediatric teaching hospital with 359 beds. Recognized as one of the largest pediatric medical providers in the US and the only dedicated pediatric medical center in the state, this organization offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a team-based culture and advanced facilities.

Location: Little Rock, AR
Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Ideal Candidate:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Arkansas (temporary license possible; candidates in licensing process encouraged to apply)
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • IV experience or IV certification preferred
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred but not required
  • New graduates are welcome

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately following physician orders
  • Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication usage
  • Verify dosage appropriateness based on patient specifics such as age, weight, and diagnosis
  • Monitor and intervene on potential drug therapy problems, including allergies and adverse reactions
  • Recommend cost-effective therapeutic alternatives and evaluate non-formulary drug needs
  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory and hospital pharmacy protocols
  • Provide drug information services and participate in education for patients, staff, and students
  • Manage medication inventory, ordering, and substitution processes efficiently
  • Support patient care by monitoring therapeutic outcomes and collaborating with healthcare providers
