A healthcare facility specializing in pediatric care is seeking experienced Clinical Pharmacists for night shift coverage. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic environment within a 359-bed, Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital known for progressive practices and a supportive team culture.
Location: Little Rock, AR
Contract Duration: 13 weeks with potential temp-to-hire option
Schedule: 7-on/7-off nights; 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Thursday through Wednesday)
Scheduling flexibility is offered to accommodate candidate needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with medical staff to assess potential drug interactions, patient history, and appropriate medication use
- Verify medication dosing based on patient-specific factors such as diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area
- Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues including allergies, adverse reactions, and therapeutic duplications
- Evaluate non-formulary drug needs and recommend cost-effective therapeutic alternatives
- Maintain rigorous documentation and regulatory compliance for pharmacy activities
- Participate in patient care rounds, providing expert consultation and monitoring for therapeutic outcomes
- Engage in educational activities for patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students
- Manage medication ordering, inventory controls, and supplier communications for uninterrupted supply
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Arkansas Pharmacist License preferred; candidates in the process of obtaining a temporary license will be considered
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
- IV experience or IV certification preferred
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation preferred
