Clinical Pharmacist - Little Rock, AR

A pediatric hospital with 359 beds seeks a Clinical Pharmacist for a contracted night shift role. This position offers the opportunity to work in a trauma level 1, teaching hospital known for its progressive and team-based work culture.

Location: Little Rock, AR
Schedule:

• 7 on/7 off nights
• 12-hour shifts (7pm-7am, Thursday through Wednesday)
• Scheduling may be flexible

Contract Details:

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for temp-to-hire
• Arkansas temporary pharmacist licenses are accepted; candidates in the licensing process are encouraged to apply

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Arkansas pharmacist license preferred
• Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• IV experience or IV certification preferred
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense medications according to physician instructions
• Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient medical history, and medication use
• Provide medication-related education to patients and healthcare team members
• Verify medication dosages appropriate for pediatric patients by diagnosis, weight, and age
• Identify and address drug therapy issues such as allergies and adverse reactions
• Evaluate and suggest therapeutic alternatives, including cost-effective options
• Manage drug information requests and documentation accurately
• Support medication order processing with accuracy and efficiency
• Participate in patient care rounds and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapy
• Assist in drug utilization reviews and maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies
