Clinical Pharmacist in Little Rock, AR

This opportunity is for a Clinical Pharmacist to contribute expertise in a dynamic, high-quality pediatric teaching hospital with 359 beds and Trauma Level 1 designation. The role involves working 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and safety
• Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient histories, and medication use
• Educate patients on medication regimens and respond to related inquiries
• Maintain pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards
• Verify drug doses appropriate to pediatric patients' diagnosis, age, weight, and body surface area
• Identify and resolve drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions
• Evaluate non-formulary drug requests and recommend cost-effective alternatives
• Monitor patient outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal therapeutic results
• Participate in staff, patient, and student education and discharge planning
• Manage medication ordering processes and maintain inventory control

Qualifications:

• Current Arkansas pharmacist license
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• IV experience or IV certification preferred
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) credential preferred
• New graduates with relevant training and licensure are encouraged to apply
