A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available to support outpatient oncology infusion services within a prominent healthcare system’s Los Angeles metro area. This contract role offers involvement in a dedicated team focused on delivering specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients. The position requires immediate availability and extends for a minimum duration of 13 weeks.
Responsibilities include verifying and checking intravenous medication preparations, with a strong emphasis on chemotherapy agents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and possess a solid understanding of USP 797 and USP 800 standards to ensure safety and compliance. Experience with EPIC pharmacy systems is necessary for effective documentation and workflow integration.
Schedule and Location:
- Night shift: Monday to Friday, 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM
- Location: Los Angeles metropolitan area, with deployment potentially at various outpatient oncology infusion sites
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with clinical experience in outpatient oncology infusion
- Demonstrated chemo-oncology experience with IV chemotherapy preparation and verification
- In-depth knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards for sterile compounding
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system preferred
- Ability to adapt to varying site locations within the metro area
