This role demands a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practices with an emphasis on chemotherapy and oncology treatments, ensuring patient safety and compliance with established protocols.
Location: • Long Beach, CA area (deployment across various sites within the Los Angeles metro area)
Schedule: • Monday through Friday • 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities: • Accurately check and verify chemotherapy and other intravenous admixtures • Maintain compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards related to sterile compounding and handling hazardous drugs • Utilize EPIC pharmacy systems for documentation and order verification • Collaborate with the oncology healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes • Monitor inventory and ensure proper storage of chemotherapy agents and supplies
Desired Experience and Qualifications: • Active pharmacist licensure with authorization to practice in California • Solid experience in chemotherapy and oncology pharmacy practices • Strong background in sterile compounding and IV preparations • Familiarity with USP 797 and USP 800 standards • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record and pharmacy systems • Adept at working efficiently in fast-paced outpatient infusion settings
