Clinical Pharmacist | Long Beach, California

A full-time clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in Long Beach, CA, offering a contract-to-hire arrangement. This role centers on managing patients receiving Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) therapy, requiring a proactive clinical approach and strong collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical management and monitoring for patients on TPN therapy
• Collaborate closely with dietitians, physicians, and pharmacy personnel to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Review TPN formulations, laboratory results, and therapy progress; recommend adjustments for patients transitioning out of the hospital
• Deliver patient counseling and education related to medication use and infusion therapies
• Oversee sterile compounding processes as needed, ensuring compliance with USP <797> standards
• Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical team members
• Serve as a clinical resource and demonstrate leadership within the pharmacy team

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2+ years of recent experience in sterile compounding and clinical pharmacy
• Proven expertise in managing TPN patients and therapies
• Experience collaborating with dietitians and other healthcare providers
• Strong patient counseling and communication skills
• Active, unrestricted California Pharmacist license
• Licensed or willing to obtain licenses promptly in Mississippi and Alabama
• In-depth knowledge of USP <797> sterile compounding standards
• Home Infusion experience is strongly preferred
• Exceptional leadership, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills
• Maturity, professionalism, and sound clinical judgment
• Ability to work effectively within a rapidly growing pharmacy environment
