This role supports an inpatient pharmacy at a large county Department of Health hospital serving diverse patient populations. It is ideal for pharmacists with PGY-1 residency experience or approximately two years of current inpatient practice who are interested in a contract-to-hire career path.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting
- Reviewing medication orders for appropriateness, drug interactions, and contraindications
- Collaborating closely with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
- Participating in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with valid California license
- PGY-1 residency strongly preferred, but all qualified candidates with relevant inpatient experience will be considered
- Minimum of two years of inpatient pharmacy practice experience
- Ability to pass a competency exam on the first attempt as part of onboarding
- Flexibility to work 8-hour shifts primarily on 1st and 2nd shifts; occasional 3rd shifts may be required
