Clinical Pharmacist in Los Angeles, CA

A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available within an outpatient oncology infusion setting in the Los Angeles area, offering a unique night-shift role on a contract basis. This position focuses on oncology and chemotherapy, supporting a recognized healthcare team known for comprehensive cancer care.

Location: Los Angeles metropolitan area (multiple sites within the region; deployment site to be determined)

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Overnight shifts from midnight (0000) to 9:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately review and verify intravenous (IV) chemotherapy and other medication orders
• Ensure strict compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards related to sterile compounding and hazardous drugs handling
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records system effectively to manage patient medication profiles
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use in an outpatient oncology infusion setting

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licensure with solid clinical pharmacy background
• Demonstrated experience in chemotherapy and oncology pharmacy practice
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with IV preparation and verification
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines for sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems preferred
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining high standards of patient safety

• Position is available immediately with a minimum 13-week commitment
• Contract position with potential for extensions based on need
