A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available supporting outpatient oncology infusion services in the Los Angeles area. This contract role offers a unique chance to apply your expertise within a reputable health system's oncology team. Night shifts are required, with a focus on chemotherapy infusion verification and medication safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and check intravenous (IV) chemotherapy preparations and other infusions
- Ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 sterile compounding and handling standards
- Collaborate with the oncology care team to maintain safe and effective medication administration
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records for documentation and workflow support
- Provide expert clinical oversight in an outpatient oncology infusion setting
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active licensure to practice in California
- Solid IV preparation and verification experience, particularly with chemotherapeutic agents
- Strong knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards relating to sterile compounding
- Previous experience working in oncology pharmacy, especially outpatient infusion, is required
- Comfortable working overnight shifts (midnight to 9:00 AM), Monday through Friday
Contract Details:
- Duration: 13 weeks or longer
- Schedule: Night shifts, Monday to Friday, 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM
- Location: Multiple sites throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area (final placement to be determined)
