This contract position supports a hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The assignment begins with an initial 8-week booking and may continue month-to-month based on mutual fit.

Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, and consulting with nurses and physicians to ensure optimal patient care. The role also involves pharmacokinetic services. The hospital utilizes the Paragon/Allscripts order entry system alongside Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, providing a modern, tech-supported work environment. There may be some floating to sister hospitals located within 10 to 15 miles, requiring adaptability and willingness to support multiple sites.

Candidates should be prepared for variable coverage hours during day and afternoon shifts. Weekly hours can fluctuate significantly, ranging from approximately 16 to 40 hours, so flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in the relevant state
  • Experience with Paragon or Allscripts order entry systems
  • Knowledge of Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
  • Strong clinical pharmacy background including pharmacokinetics
  • Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to oversee pharmacy technicians and manage workflow efficiently
  • Willingness to float to nearby facilities as needed
