Clinical Pharmacist | Manteca, California

A healthcare facility seeks a knowledgeable Infusion Pharmacist to provide part-time clinical support 2-3 days per week. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., based in Manteca, CA, with an ASAP start and ongoing duration.

This position is ideal for candidates with solid IV/Infusion and clinical pharmacy experience, especially those familiar with home infusion pharmacy. New graduates from the past 2-3 years with IV/TPN experience during APPEs or internships are encouraged to apply, as the director is willing to provide training. Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and verify physician prescription orders, ensuring dosage, drug selection, interactions, and administration routes are appropriate for each patient.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records, including medical history, labs, medications, and nutritional therapies.
• Order and interpret clinical lab tests, collaborating with nurses and physicians on patient care.
• Provide clinical and technical support to physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Oversee sterile compounding and quality assurance processes, including environmental and product testing.
• Assist in policy implementation and staff training, including supervision of pharmacy technicians and interns.
• Document all professional communications in patients’ medical records.
• Promote safe pharmacy practices and deliver patient education on drug therapies.

Qualifications:

• Current, valid CA pharmacist license in good standing.
• Strong IV/Infusion, clinical, and preferably home infusion pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with CareTend pharmacy system.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
