An infusion pharmacist position is available to provide part-time support (2-3 days per week) in a clinical pharmacy setting. This role offers the opportunity to start immediately with an on-going assignment, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating physician prescription orders for dosage accuracy, drug choice relative to diagnosis, potential interactions, and administration routes.
- Ensuring patient records are comprehensive, including medical history, lab results, and current medications.
- Maintaining documentation required by regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Ordering and assessing clinical laboratory tests in collaboration with nursing staff and physicians.
- Assisting healthcare professionals with clinical and technical support related to medication and nutritional therapy.
- Supporting policy implementation and supervising pharmacy personnel, including sterile compounding and quality assurance activities.
- Documenting all relevant communications in patient medical records.
- Providing drug therapy education and safety guidance to patients and caregivers.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid California pharmacist license in good standing.
- Strong IV/infusion and clinical pharmacy experience; prior home infusion pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Recent graduates (within 2-3 years) with IV/TPN experience during APPEs or internships are encouraged to apply; training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
- Commitment to detailed and organized documentation of professional activities.
