Clinical Pharmacist - Marianna, Arkansas

A clinical pharmacist is needed to provide interim coverage in a hospital setting located in Forrest City, AR. This contract role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a supportive acute care environment with a focus on med-surg, ICU, and women’s health specialties. The position requires a flexible commitment of three days per week with a schedule to be determined in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy.

Forrest City, Arkansas

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• No weekend or on-call responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Arkansas pharmacist license required
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Proficiency in order verification and IV compounding
• Experience overseeing pharmacy technicians beneficial
• Familiarity with Medhost order entry system (onsite training provided)
• Pyxis ES automation experience is a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Perform IV medication compounding as needed
• Provide supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians
• Collaborate with technicians who handle Pyxis refills, medication expiration checks, crash cart maintenance, and unit dose inspections
• Participate in 2-3 days of orientation prior to starting

This contract role extends for at least two months or until a permanent pharmacist is hired, providing stability and a collaborative work setting with one full-time pharmacist and one technician supporting daily pharmacy operations.
