Clinical Pharmacist - Marksville, LA

This opportunity is for a Clinical Pharmacist role supporting a community hospital with over 200 beds. The position offers a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, with shift times varying between early mornings and late evenings. Weekend shifts will be every other weekend. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with an ASAP start.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily tasks
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication regimens
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles for individualized drug dosing
• Utilize clinical software systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with current credentials
• Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably in a community hospital
• Proficient with EPIC and Pyxis systems, or similar healthcare IT platforms
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends on a rotating basis

Location:

• The position is based in Alexandria, Louisiana, requiring onsite presence to support hospital pharmacy operations.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule that may include 6AM-4:30PM, 7AM-5:30PM, or 12:30PM-11PM shifts
• Every other weekend work required
