Clinical Pharmacist in Marksville, LA

Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services in a 200+ bed community hospital setting, supporting patient care through critical medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams. This role offers an opportunity to execute inpatient pharmacy responsibilities while working closely with physicians and nursing staff to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough order verification ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow and accuracy
• Provide clinical consultations to physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies and patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to individualize patient drug dosing and optimize efficacy and safety
• Utilize hospital IT systems, including EPIC and Pyxis, for documentation and medication dispensing

Schedule/Hours:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts; hours may vary between 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage is required

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with clinical experience
• Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology and hospital pharmacy operations
• Experience working within hospital IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis
• Ability to perform medication order verification and clinical interventions confidently
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate and supervise
