Clinical Pharmacist in Mckeesport, PA

This opportunity offers the chance to serve as a clinical pharmacist with a dynamic scope of practice spanning both the Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including active involvement on the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where pharmacists may be limited to a single unit, this role allows you to develop and expand your clinical expertise across multiple high-intensity care areas.

Position Overview:
You will function as a unit-based clinical pharmacist supporting the ED and ICU. This position demands clinical agility and participation in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma.

Responsibilities:

• Perform medication order entry, verification, and comprehensive medication profile reviews for appropriateness.
• Provide clinical services tailored to the needs of specific patient populations in ED and ICU units.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary teams and rounds as assigned.
• Conduct drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults in accordance with established protocols.
• Offer drug information support to clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Completion of PGY-1 residency or a minimum of 3 years of current clinical pharmacy experience.
• Valid Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in high-stakes clinical environments.

Schedule:

• Primarily day shifts with variable days and afternoons.
• 8-hour shift structure.

This is a direct hire role offering competitive annual compensation ranging from $108,000 to $169,000, with a midpoint of approximately $139,000. Relocation assistance may be available upon discussion.
