A healthcare facility in Metairie, Louisiana is seeking a critical care/clinical pharmacist with specialized transplant experience for a 13-week contract opportunity. This role focuses on delivering expert pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, particularly supporting solid organ transplant cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services in critical care and emergency room environments
  • Support transplant patient care with expertise in medication management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for accurate documentation and communication
  • Participate in weekend rotations and maintain consistent day shift coverage (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of transplant pharmacy experience required
  • PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant residency preferred; candidates with PGY-1 and transplant support experience considered
  • Active Louisiana pharmacist license in hand
  • Board certification in pharmacy practice preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage clinical responsibilities
