A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist with expertise in both Meditech and Epic systems during an electronic medical record transition project. This role requires flexible rotating shifts to effectively support medication management and clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.

Location: New Castle, Colorado
Schedule:

  • Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Weekdays starting at either 06:30 or 08:00
  • Rotating weekends working 07:00-12:00

Duration: Contract assignment through mid-August with potential adjustments based on start date

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, compound, and dispense medication orders according to physician instructions, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
  • Maintain medication stock within patient care areas ensuring availability and safety
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and contraindications
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing following hospital protocols
  • Review culture and sensitivity data to advise on antibiotic therapies
  • Provide clinical consultation to medical staff and suggest cost-effective, evidence-based medication alternatives
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions thoroughly
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication reviews, and staff education
  • Serve as a member of the hospital’s Code Response Team

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, good standing Colorado Pharmacist license
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Demonstrated experience with Meditech and Epic electronic medical record systems (Meditech-to-Epic conversion experience preferred)
  • Seasonal influenza vaccination required (no exemptions)
